Experimental versus Commercial
Experimental
Products released as-is. The collaborator may have developed the product as a fun idea or not tested for production use. Collaborators may not be able to carry out extensive quality control testing before making the products available.
Commercial Development
If a collaborator chooses to release a product for sale, or commericial use - such as from a software brand, then it's assumed the product has been tested accordingly and passed quality control protocols for commercial use.
