Licence Requirements
This tool requires an active SiNi user account and a valid licence.
Supported Licences
- All Access Subscription
- IgNite Subscription
- Forensic (Free) Licence
The script will not function unless you are logged into the SiNi Desipher Licence Manager within 3ds Max.
If a valid licence cannot be found, functionality will be disabled until a licence is activated.
Activating Your Licence
- Create a SiNi account at SiNiSoftware.com.
- Download the latest SiNi installer.
- Install SiNi into your version of 3ds Max.
- This installs the SiNi Desipher Licence Manager.
- Launch 3ds Max.
- Open the Desipher Licence Manager.
- Sign in using your SiNi account credentials.
- Once your licence has been validated, the script will become available for use.

Installing the MacroScript Version

- Extract the ZIP file.
- There are two options to install MacroScript .MZP files.
– Drag and Drop the MacroScript .MZP file into a 3ds Max viewport.
– Run the Script from the Command Panel; Utilities/MAXScript/Run Script.
- Open Customise → Customise User Interface.
- Select the Sinilab_Scripts category.
- Drag the tool onto a toolbar, quad menu or menu.
MacroScript Controls
Single-Click the toolbar icon to apply the default setting.
Shift-Click the toolbar icon to open the UI and make adjustments. The settings will be saved as the default.
Rollout Reference

Modify spline knot types across multiple selected spline objects.
Selection
Displays the current spline classification.
Editable Splines
Shows the number of editable spline objects available for processing.
Parametric Splines
Shows the number of parametric spline primitives detected in the selection.
Refresh
Reanalyses the current selection and updates the classification display.
Parametric Handling
Controls how parametric spline primitives are treated during processing.
Convert on Apply
Converts selected parametric spline primitives into editable spline shapes when Apply is pressed.
Ignore on Apply
Excludes selected parametric spline primitives from processing.
Visual Guide
Provides viewport-based visual feedback.
Display Knots
Shows spline knot locations in the viewport.
Display Tangents
Shows Bezier tangent previews in the viewport.
Vertex Knot
Selects the knot operation applied to the classified selection.
Corner
Converts spline knots to Corner vertices.
Smooth
Converts spline knots to Smooth vertices.
Bezier
Converts spline knots to Bezier vertices.
Bezier Corner
Converts spline knots to Bezier Corner vertices.
Reset Tangents
Straightens and equalises tangent handles on processed Bezier knots.
Apply
Applies the selected Vertex Knot operation to all eligible spline objects.
Typical Workflows
Convert Splines to Corner Knots
[INSERT WORKFLOW SCREENSHOT]
- Select one or more spline objects.
- Click Refresh if required.
- Enable Corner.
- Click Apply.
Convert Parametric Shapes to Editable Splines

- Select one or more spline primitives.
- Enable Convert on Apply.
- Choose the required knot type.
- Click Apply. Please note: If you convert a circle primitive, it only has 4 x vertex knots, so it will convert to a square. We recommend you use SiNi Scribe – Curve to Corner to apply additional knots to keep the shape.
Reset Bezier Tangents

- Select Bezier spline objects.
- Enable Reset Tangents.
- Click Apply.
- Review the updated tangent handles.
Troubleshooting
Why are my spline objects not being processed?
Ensure the objects are spline-based shapes and click Refresh to update the classification.
Why are some spline objects shown as Parametric Splines?
The objects are spline primitives such as rectangles, circles or other parametric shapes that have not yet been converted to editable splines.
Why can’t I see knot locations?
Enable Display Knots in the Visual Guide section.
Why can’t I see tangent handles?
Enable Display Tangents and ensure the selected spline contains Bezier or Bezier Corner vertices.
