Description
Spline Vertex Numbers provides a simple visual overlay that displays spline vertex numbers in the viewport.
It is useful when modifying spline topology, identifying specific vertices, or preparing splines for modelling, animation and procedural workflows.

Licence Requirements
This tool requires an active SiNi user account and a valid licence.
Supported Licences
- All Access Subscription
- IgNite Subscription
- Forensic (Free) Licence
The script will not function unless you are logged into the SiNi Desipher Licence Manager within 3ds Max.
If a valid licence cannot be found, functionality will be disabled until a licence is activated.
Activating Your Licence
- Create a SiNi account at SiNiSoftware.com.
- Download the latest SiNi installer.
- Install SiNi into your version of 3ds Max.
- This installs the SiNi Desipher Licence Manager.
- Launch 3ds Max.
- Open the Desipher Licence Manager.
- Sign in using your SiNi account credentials.
- Once your licence has been validated, the script will become available for use.

Installing the MacroScript

- Extract the ZIP file.
- There are two options to install MacroScript .MZP files.
– Drag and Drop the MacroScript .MZP file into a 3ds Max viewport, (most common method).
– Run the Script from the Command Panel; Utilities/MAXScript/Run Script, (For scripts with UI bitmaps).
- Open Customise → Customise User Interface.
- Select the Sinilab_Scripts category.
- Drag the tool onto a toolbar, quad menu or menu.
MacroScript Controls
Single-Click the toolbar icon to apply the default setting.
Shift-Click the toolbar icon to open the UI and make adjustments. The settings will be saved as the default.

Show All Splines
Displays vertex numbers for all visible splines in the scene.
Size
Controls the viewport text size.
Colour
Sets the display colour used for the vertex numbers.
Typical Workflows
Display Vertex Numbers on a Spline

- Select one or more splines.
- Launch Spline Vertex Numbers.
- Disable Show All Splines if required.
- Adjust the display size.
- Review vertex numbers directly in the viewport.
Inspect All Splines in a Scene

- Enable Show All Splines.
- Adjust text size and colour.
- Review spline numbering across the entire scene.
Troubleshooting
Vertex numbers are not visible
Ensure the spline is visible and the display size is large enough to be seen in the viewport.
Numbers do not appear on a shape
Convert the shape to an Editable Spline if required.
Viewport becomes difficult to read
Reduce the display size or disable Show All Splines.
